The International Leadership week theme this year is the Power of Networks 

Something that we don’t talk about very often is how lonely leadership can be. Leaders can often feel that they are grappling with big issues and decisions on their own. 

There are many forms of support that can help with this such as networking groups, mentoring and executive coaching, but one often overlooked aspect of taking part in a leadership development programme, is the power of the leadership cohort. 

Content on a development programme of course has to be up to date, engaging and tailored to work for the environment, but what really makes a programme invaluable is the power of peer interaction and support. 

If facilitated well a leadership development programme gives protected time to share challenges, hear different viewpoints and expand your thinking. By tapping into the power of your peer network you can talk through difficult conversations, test out a potential approach, find ways to remove blocks to a problem.
